Cllr Miranda Jones
I've lived in Rutland for thirteen years and for the last seven have worked at Uppingham School running their very busy Hospitality Department. Uppingham is a great place to live and work and we are truly fortunate to have so many residents who volunteer their time to all our various committees and community groups.
I am a member of Uppingham Town Partnership and as the Council's representative for Uppingham in Bloom I have taken an active part in their preparations for this year's judging days. This year I joined the Feast Day committee and have just taken over as Chair of the Christmas in Uppingham committee. Mindful of the power of social media, I manage the Feast Day and Town Partnership's website, Twitter and Facebook accounts. (Please do email me details of any news or events that could do with promoting). When I'm not working, tweeting or sitting on committees I love a good ramble with my dog or to hit a ball around a squash court or golf course. On performance nights I can usually be found running the bar at Uppingham Theatre. I love to write and have two unfinished novels in my desk drawer waiting for me to finish them off. Miranda is Vice-Chair of The Uppingham Town Partnership.
Miranda sits on all committees with the exception of Staffing Committee.
