Distinguished in Place and Repute

Cllr Pat Dalby

Cllr Pat Dalby

Uppingham is the place 6 generations of my family have lived and continue to live in. It is the town that holds so many wonderful memories, the town heritage and the characters that made it the place it has been. After leaving Stamford Endowed School and university, I followed a varied career in Social Services, University management, Probation and the Third Sector. I have volunteered with many charities over a period of 55 years, currently I volunteer with the Community Fridge and Souper Space. It has been a privilege as a volunteer to witness how often small changes can have a big impact on peoples lives. I have become a Councillor for a number of reasons. I am mindful we cannot stand in the way of change, but change needs to be controlled, and I am concerned that the young growing up here, with irreplaceable family support, are unable to get access to social housing, and as a result are forced away from the town. I believe inclusivity is fundamental, where all our community should be embraced and valued.
