Following an objection received in the middle of 2017 Grant Thornton had indicated they were unable to certify the accounts for the year ending 31st March 2017.
They have now concluded their review of the objection and have concluded there are no further audit actions for them to take. You can read the correspondence on our finance page.

Essential maintenance and repairs are going to be undertaken by Rutland County Council to a well used path between Tod's Piece and Ayston Road.
The surface of the path and the various tree roots will be sorted out and the work to do that will take approximately 3 days. During this time some or all of this path may be closed to allow work to progress.
Work commences on 26th March 2018.

Just to update you further in view of the weather; gritters worked continually throughout last night to treat and clear primary and secondary routes, including those through villages.
We had very little snow overnight compared to yesterday but farmers and gritters with ploughs are working to clear drifts caused by fallen snow blowing across the roads.

Rutland saw some very heavy snow overnight with drifts along a number of routes.
Roads were gritted twice last night and local farmers brought in to help clear accumulations in the early hours.
Gritters have been back out this morning to re-treat priority routes and assist stranded vehicles and will be working on secondary routes this afternoon.

The Council is preparing for the bout of cold weather that is expected to affect the UK in the coming weeks.
Forecasts predict that the weather will turn much colder from Monday 26 February with increased risk of ice, frost and snow showers across central and eastern parts of the country.
