Children in Uppingham are celebrating the opening of a new play area at Tod's Piece. The new play area is officially up and running following a launch party attended by the High Sheriff of Rutland, Richard Cole at Tod's Piece on Tuesday.

Join us to open the new play area!

Come along to Tod's Piece tomorrow, Tuesday 11th August at 11am, where the High Sheriff of Rutland, Richard Cole will be opening the new space.

All welcome.

Social distancing measures will be in place for the opening and hand sanitiser will be available.

Re-opening Town Hall for Classes after Covid-19 Lockdown

The re-opening of the Town Hall for classes was debated by the Staffing and Amenities Committees during meetings held on 15th July 2020. The Town Council are obliged to consider health and safety matters when re-opening community facilities. New Mayor for Uppingham

The next Mayor of Uppingham has been confirmed as Councillor Stephen Rozak, who was previously the Deputy Mayor. His position was confirmed at the Annual Council Meeting, which took place on Wednesday 1 July 2020. Councillor Liz Clarke was confirmed as Deputy Mayor.

Construction has begun on the refurbishment of the children's play area at Tod's Piece in Uppingham. Uppingham is open for business!

Non-essential retailers such as art galleries, clothes shops and jewellers are able to re-open their shops from this week.

Work to start on new play area this summer

Work to start on new play area this summer

Work is soon to begin on upgrading the children's play area on Tod's Piece.

The project has been slightly delayed by the Covid-19 outbreak, however the Council can now confirm that contractors will be on site from mid-July to start work on creating new playground surfaces and installing new equipment, benches and fences.

The work is funded by FCC Communities Foundation and Uppingham Town Council.

From FRIDAY 5th JUNE non-essential market traders are permitted to return to the Uppingham weekly market, as per Government guidance.

Customers are reminded to continue to follow government safety guidelines and maintain social distancing of 2 meters when using the market. Market stall holders should put measures in place to help ensure customers can shop safely.
