New Town Clerk in Uppingham
The Mayor of Uppingham, Councillor Stephen Rozak has welcomed Mrs Sharon Coe as the new Clerk to Uppingham Town Council.
Councillor Stephen Rozak said, 'We are delighted to welcome Sharon to the team and the Council is looking forward to working with her in reviewing and improving our activities to make Uppingham a great place to live and work.' The Mayor also thanked Locum Clerk Peter Leppard for his support over the last year.
Highly experienced within local government, Mrs Coe has served previously as Clerk at a parish in Melton and latterly Deputy Clerk in her home village of Whetstone in Leicestershire. Currently a serving District Councillor at Blaby District Council where she sits in the cabinet as Portfolio holder for Health Wellbeing, Community Engagement and Business Support, Mrs Coe has previously been appointed Chairman of Blaby District Council and is now enjoying her challenging and varied role in Uppingham. She said 'It is an honour to be appointed to this position as Clerk in Uppingham, it is such a vibrant place with a truly unique character and charm. I look forward to working with the Councillors in their quest to keep Uppingham in the forefront as a thriving heritage market town.'
